FUN MONDAY
HulaGirlAtHeart wants us to show "topic….clothing…specifically clothing you can’t get rid of. We all have at least one or two items of clothing that we can’t part with, even if we can’t or don’t wear them. I want to know about yours".
Here I have a big problem because I don't keep anything in my wardrobe what I don't wear. As soon as I am fat up of something I give it away. I didn't keep my wedding dress as so many women do, I had transformed it into a white cocktail dress and worn it for sometime. The veil had belonged to my best girl friend and after the wedding I gave it back.
The only things I kept during all these years are my son's little Hippie vest when he was 2 years old in 1975 and his christening costume. We had postponed the christening to May so he was already 9 months old. I remember that he hit the priest on the head with his candle. The clothes are quite big but he was already very tall as a baby. Today he mesures 2 m (6.6 ft).
I put the cat inside to show the vest's size
This little suit is made out of blue velvet and had a white portuguese lace collar which I don't find anymore. It was offered to him by his portuguese Godmother.
And that is all I can show

I do not have my wedding dress either. You had a good idea wearing yours as a cocktail dress. Wow, the little hippie vest is impressive.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have even thought of keeping my wedding dress either. The only thing it really 'resembled' being wedding like was that it was white, and lace. No frills at all.
ReplyDeleteNow this 'hippie' vest is just outstanding. It's adorable, I really like that. I'm glad you kept it and then decided to share it with us. So darned cute.
The blue suit is special. I have mine from years ago. Blue is the traditional boy color. My guess is that it is that way because both words start with B ...boy and blue.
ReplyDeleteThat vest is a hoot! I love seeing what people keep. Thanks for playing along even though it was a tough assignment for you.
ReplyDeleteI have my wedding dress but it wasn't a proper wedding dress but a simple white summer dress so I can wear it again I love th hippie vest, that is fabulous. :D
ReplyDeleteI love the 'hippie' vest, and I love your blog too. I'm a cat person myself.
ReplyDeleteThat is one 'hairy' little vest. Love it. At first, I thought it was a pair of boots, then I found my glasses.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the hippie vest! I recall one of my aunts wearing something similar at one time...
ReplyDeleteI wish I did not keep what I don't wear like you, I too have my daughter's christening dress..thanks for sharing
