  1. Wow, what fun. I was in Belgium for a few minutes, watching and listening to those videos. I was amused to hear people singing along to "Son of a Preacher Man". Mind you, I would have sung along too if I was there.

    Great post, Gattina. Thank you.

  2. Marvelous post, Gattina, of your National Day! Sorry for the threats, they seem to be common everywhere these days, sad commentary on our world today! But the good side is that everyone still had fun! Your photos are great, enjoyed them all!

    Have a great week!

  7. wow what a wonderful celebration - too bad Germany doesn't have kings and queens so we can have a party like that ;) there really isn't much exciting around here on Oct. 3 (reunification day) except maybe in Berlin? otherwise - "tote hose" *wink*

  15. The celebrations looks fab, and such great weather too! I was in Brussels once on this day, but we arrived in the evening, so we only saw the fireworks (and all the drunk people sitting out on the Grand Place). Thanks for sharing this day with us :-)

  17. Happy National Day, Gattina!
The Queen Mother seems a humourous lady. :)

We would be having our National Day in early August.

  18. Lovely set of photos and another great story behind. I have to say tho the Widow Queen with the apple, was just too funny, at least she can take things with the proverbial grain of salt.
