WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

In 2018 I visited the State Hermitage Museum which is the most famous and most visited museum of Saint Petersburg and the second largest art museum of the world.

Unfortunately I couldn't see the paintings or only few of them because the entrance in the museum was so badly organized, that you just got a place to stand still, stretch your neck and try to see a piece of the paintings. At some point I had enough and looked up and saw these beautiful Cristal chandeliers. So I decided to weave my way through the crowd and find a spot each time to photograph the most beautiful chandeliers.

  1. It sounds like a poorly organised tour. Well done for finding something more interesting.

    1. It was only very badly organized at the entrance there were I don't know how many tourist buses on the parking and they let in everybody who pushed enough to get in ! Instead of letting in a group and then the next .

  2. I visited in the evening when the cruise ship crowds had departed and was able to admire this fabulous opulent art gallery. I'm glad I visited Russia when I did as I will not be visiting that part of the world again. Your wonderful photos brought back good memories of my trip.

  7. What a beautiful way to find something captivating amid a chaotic experience. The grandeur of the chandeliers brought a touch of peace and elegance to an otherwise overwhelming visit. Sometimes, when things don't go as planned, it opens the door for unexpected discoveries.

The crystal chandeliers in such a renowned place must have looked stunning. They probably reflected the light in ways that turned a frustrating moment into something quite magical. It's impressive how you turned that challenging situation into an opportunity to capture something so beautiful and unique. Your determination to find beauty even when the circumstances were less than ideal really speaks to your perspective on making the best out of any situation.
