This time I didn't have to look for something to show and to tell about ! I finally put my Egyptian holliday souvenirs away and decorated our house or more exactly the Living room for Christmas. There is no Christmas tree yet, because I never put it up before two weeks before Christmas.
That stands on our dining table
and here is the mantle (Melli will recognize the cats she sent to me last year !)
A Santa on his sleigh
Even the Bamboo sprouts had to have some stars
on the radiator
The sofa with Arthur, meditating about crimes to commit
On the TV cabinet
Our little crèche, (the big one hand made from Mr. Gattino is in the attic, because we don't celebrate Christmas at home but with our son in Amsterdam).
The traditional German Christmas mill
and of course the Advent wreath with the 4 candles. On sunday the 3rd candle will be lit.
a very small "Welcome" !
Since Sunday the 14 th, we also have a Christmas "tree" it is the smallest one we ever had during our almost 40 years of marriage ! But we won't be here on Christmas we will spent it with our son in Amsterdam and there will be a very big tree !
It is so fun to see your Christmas things mixed
ReplyDeletewith all your wonderful kitty collectibles! I see
you have lots of angels, I have a few from Germany
that I will be showing on my blog before Christmas! Of course I love your "Mill" such a
traditional German item for Christmas. I've never
owned one. Is this one used with candles?
I like how you've spread your decor and cheer around the room! So festive!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks very Christmassy!!! Love all the decorations. You probably meant you decorate the tree two days (and not two weeks, correct me if I am wrong) before Xmas, following the German tradition. Yes, I read your posts :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Friday!
So excited to see another christmas mill/pyramid - I blogged about mine in last week's Show and Tell.
ReplyDeleteI love to see other people's Christmas goodies. Thanks for sharing yours.
I am blogging daily until Christmas Eve about my decor, traditions and food here in Northern Ireland.
I love your gold fairy between the two cats. Your house must look lovely with all the decorations you've put around. I've put my tree up but I haven't decorated yet. That will happen tomorrow if Mitzi and Bella don't wreck the tree first.
ReplyDeleteAll so beautiful Gattina, as always. I do, I do remember the cat that Melli sent you...and I LOVE the blue cat...is that azure? Or Lapis?
ReplyDeleteLove your Christmas touches everywhere! Your Christmas Mill brings back memories as I spent a great deal of my childhood in Germany.

ReplyDeleteLOVELY! Just LOVELY! I certainly DO recognize my teeeeeeeny little cats sitting on you mantel! They swam such a long long way all across that BIG ocean to get to you! I love your little angels! And we used to have one of those German Christmas mills when I was little! I wonder what became of it ... I notice your new MAGIC table cloth too! Your home is all FESTIVE now! I'm sorry Mr. Gattino doesn't get to move his 3 kings closer and closer each day this year... that's sad!
ReplyDeleteGreat decorations. I enjoyed them all. But I was surprised those are American style Santa Clauses . I expected St. Nicholas.
