The Jardin Majorelle of Yves St. Laurent in Marrakech (Morocco)
In 1924, the French painter Jacques Majorelle acquired land located on the edge of
the Palmeraie of Marrakech, where he built a villa and laid out a garden.
In 1947, Majorelle opened his garden to the public. In 1980, the late Pierre Bergé and
Yves Saint Laurent became owners of this legendary garden and kept it open to the
public. After the death of YSL because of a brain cancer the "Jardin Majorelle" belongs to a foundation. I have visited Marrakech and seen the garden which was just beautiful.
Nice.
