SHOW & TELL
More participants are here at Kelly's
We are back from Italy since yesterday afternoon, so I don't have to show a lot yet. Apparently it had been very hot (in the 30°C, 90F) in Belgium while we were away and my poor flowers on the terrace looked like this :
I hope they will recover again, I hadn't told my neighbor to water them, as it usually always rains in Belgium and she had seen it. Never mind, next time I will know better. It also was the first year I put flower pots on the patio !
The last evening we spent in a beautiful restaurant in a little town near the lake and
had as starter (!) mussels with grilled garlic bread for my husband, followed by polenta with gulash
and grilled eggplant slices with parmesan cheese for me and then a grilled trout with grilled vegetables.
the last look out of my window and then we drove home.

Mmmmm! Looks delicious! Sorry about your flowers! It sounds like you had a wonderful time in Italy...
ReplyDeleteYour flowers will recover. If not, they were not meant for your garden.
ReplyDeleteYour "last meal" sounds delicious! it's been so hot here that I am only serving salads for lunch and cold cuts for dinner :)
Just cut the dead bits of your plants, give them a good watering and they should be as good as they ever were. Your "Last Supper" looks very appetising...I love mussels and garlic bread...say no more.
ReplyDeleteyumm! i love mussels with garlic bread.. and polenta too! not to worry about your garden.. the flowers will bloom again after few weeks.. and nothing beats the great time you had in Italy.. happy FRiday
ReplyDeleteOh I could definitely go out to eat with you and Mr. Gattino. You eat all my favorite foods!
ReplyDeleteHopefully your plants will recover. Plants are as big a problem as pets when it is holiday time. Yum, your last supper looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame about your plants. Wouldn't you know it tho, it's a law of nature I guess...you figuring it would rain for them...and it didn't.
ReplyDeleteMy show n tell is petrified wood I found in our yard...I think. Come see what you think, your opinion is greatly valued.
Love your street view photo!
ReplyDeleteI bet your cats are glad mom and dad are home!! Glad you had a good time. Those mussels look delicious! One of my all time favorite foods, so simple and so good!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm! I'm not crazy about mussels... but that grilled eggplant looks divine!!! And again, I love that little street!
ReplyDeleteMy cucumber plant died 1000 deaths all in one day -- but I watered it and it popped right back to life! I also had some flowers in a pot that shriveled - and I trimmed them and watered - they are now (about 2 weeks later) starting to flower freshly! Just keep watering!
aaaaaaaaaww... is this the dinner?
