During my holidays here at the English coast we also went to Alfriston which is a charming village where the time stood still. Cars really didn't fit in the landscape ! I tried to shoot the photos when for a moment there were no cars, which wasn't easy.
Most of the houses are from the 15th or 16th century.
Excellent...they are all winners. What' I've noticed in all of this is the amount of windows...since you first brought it up when you showed your sons house. They are all over the place :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a picturesque place and you did well...most of the photos have no cars.
ReplyDeleteThere's a farming area in New Zealand, just outside of Auckland, called Alfriston. It's not a village, but it's very beautiful country.
It's interesting to see all the old signs are out, such as apothecary rather than pharmacy or chemist. Thanks for taking us on the journey, too.
Looks very English :-)
ReplyDeleteOh I just love the British old homes and buildings. I've always thought they were beautiful!
