FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

1. Rain, rain and rain ! I feel like a prisoner ! On top of that we had a rather strong storm and lots of houses were damaged, roofs flew away, trees fell on the streets and highways and in some regions the electricity went on strike. My neighbor's basement was full of water and I could watch how it was pumped out !

2. Being fed up to be locked in I crossed the street, only a few meters, and visited my other neighbor, but was wet when I arrived ! We had a nice chat and she was happy to see somebody, her view became so bad, that now she is not allowed to drive anymore. At least thanks her tablet she can still read and also watch TV on a big screen.

3. In the News we were told that along the highways at the rest areas, Eros Centers will be built, with the income of the taxes they want to repair the bad state of the highways. The girls get a fixed salary and have to pay taxes ! I thought now the world or at least Belgium becomes crazy, when I learned the next day that it was an April 1 prank !

4. My cleaning lady came with a big surprise for me

A lovely cat bag which contained a card, a bunny, a lamb a chocolate egg and a beautiful colored easter egg. This will probably be the only gift I will get for Easter.

5. Everybody in our painting class had made a painting or drawing on a little square carton.

We put them together and when we had found the right disposition, they will be glued on the wooden square as one single painting for the Waterloo Artists tour exhibition in October.

After this "hard" work, we had a delicious cake, which one of the ladies had baked herself together with champagne or coffee. What a nice morning !

That was kind of your cleaning lady. I thought it was the employer who should give the gift.

I want your cleaning lady, does she travel? Just a few hours a week would do.
Happy Easter.

Well, I guess some truckers wouldn't have minded at all about the Eros!

That spread of food looks delicious. It's making me quite hungry right now.

What a neat mosaic of the combined paintings! You have a very thoughtful cleaning lady. We have had some rainy days, too, but I'm not complaining since warm temps came with the rain.

Wow! What a nice thing for your cleaning lady to do. The finished painting will be so much fun with everyone's contribution. How clever! Stay dry!

We finally have rain here too and I am SOOOO Happy it isn't SNOW! Yesterday we had a high temp of 67 degrees F. Halleluia!!!!! I'm thankful all of our snow is gone here in my area of NYS. That art class looks lovely and how fun to celebrate with cake and champagne afterwards!! Hoping you have some sunshine for Easter Sunday!

Yikes that sounds like quite the storm that went through! Nice of you to venture from your home to check on your neighbour! That was a very sweet gift from your cleaning lady. It's nice to be thought of. Happy Easter to you and your family, Gattina!

Sorry you've had so much rain, I don't care for rain either when it just doesn't seem to stop and then the storm, that must have been scary.
How nice to get a sweet surprise from the Cleaning Lady for Easter.
Oh I bet that combined painting will be fun to see.
Happy Easter.

I'm sorry about all the bad weather - hope it clears up soon.

What a nice gift from your cleaning lady! We don't really do gifts for Easter besides maybe a bit of candy or flowers and a special meal. That may change with a grandson, though - I saw a lot of neat things I would have loved to get but he wasn't quite old enough for them yet.

Your paint class sounds like so much fun.

I can't draw a straight line, but I want to be in your painting class! You ladies have too much fun! Happy Easter to you and Mr G. I don't think I've gotten an Easter gift since I was ten years old... It's really for kids isn't it. But still very nice of your cleaning woman! You must be her favorite client!
