On our way to Italy we spent one night in a little hotel in Bavaria. Just in front of it I found this shop and factory where artists carved all kind of sculptures in wood ! Just have a look at these masterpieces !

Aren't they fabulous! They remind me of someone's garden where they had all these different statues carved out of fallen trees, tree stumps, etc. It was as if the garden was full of people. Unfortunately the whole thing...garden, statues, house was destroyed in the Black Saturday bushfires in February. Such a shame...

These are beautiful! Isn't it just amazing what sOMe people can do with a log or a tree stump? We have a fellow who comes to our county fair and creates MASTERPIECES -- with a chainsaw! I love to just stand and watch him work! And then I always wish I could afford one of his pieces -- but they are 2-3 THOUSAND dollars each! I don't carry that much to the fair!
