It is the only veg I haven't been able to teach Bill to like (he grew up eating almost none), but I still fix them once or twice a year for myself. Our kids loved them. One difference from your posh friends is, when I serve them they're not the appetizer, they're the main course! (I might serve a platter of cold meat and tomatoes or deviled eggs or something like that for protein, but nothing much else.)Sallie (FullTime-Life)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15442598857394838271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2857159910102323096.post-88952066639719690962015-05-22T05:49:46.426+02:002015-05-22T05:49:46.426+02:00I like the hearts in salads.

My born in Borneo Aunt bought one, cooked it, and showed me how to eat it peeling the layers one by one dipping it in a dressing. I must say, I wasn't impressed, Not much to eat. I love artichokes, but it's just very difficult to find decent ones where I live. For a while there was a California grocery store chain in the Houston area. They had the best artichokes, but since they left I can rarely find a decent one. They're always old and the leaves are spread open. I always look for fresh ones and on a rare occasion I can find a half way decent one.Bettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09068151073417372746noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2857159910102323096.post-2134613882346462792015-05-21T12:35:56.321+02:002015-05-21T12:35:56.321+02:00Thanks for the tip should I ever be served articho...Thanks for the tip should I ever be served artichoke.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2857159910102323096.post-11115545499339888332015-05-21T12:18:15.494+02:002015-05-21T12:18:15.494+02:00I wouldn't know that either since contact with...I wouldn't know that either since contact with fresh artichoke has been very sparse in my life.
