Before that I worked as an Aerospace Engineer at NASA Houston and was programing them and other digital equipment. By 1984, could have been earlier, we had an IBM desktop in our home. Mrs. Jim did word processing and Internet with it too, we shared.

I do like your write up on your learning experiences. Seems like ages since I had been using 'google' as a word and that became official in 2006. Here is the history:
"The transitive verb to google (also spelled Google) means using the Google search engine to obtain information on something or somebody on the World Wide Web. However, in many dictionaries the verb refers to using any web search engine, such as Yahoo! or Bing. A neologism arising from the popularity and dominance of the eponymous search engine, the American Dialect Society chose it as the "most useful word of 2002." It was added to the Oxford English Dictionary on June 15, 2006, and to the eleventh edition of the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary in July 2006. The first recorded usage of google used as a participle, thus supposing an intransitive verb, was on July 8, 1998, by Google co-founder Larry Page himself, who wrote on a mailing list: "Have fun and keep googling!" Its earliest known use (as a transitive verb) on American television was in the "Help" episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (October 15, 2002), when Willow asked Buffy, "Have you googled her yet?"" ... (there's more) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_(verb)

You would like the British Isles. We've been there quite a bit as our daughter lived there almost five years. They are back now but we would visit about four times a year, her here in the summer and for Christmas. We would generally go in the spring and fall and sometimes in the summer also. Generally we would travel around Europe or take cruises while we were there. Strange, it wasn't until last spring when we finally took time to go over to Wales. It was lovely, I will blog about that (again) when we get to the "W's".

My first overseas was in 1980 when we did the Mediterranean cruise and Holy Land tour. We haven't stopped our visits since. Some time I will post a list of places we've been all in one place. We really don't want to go to most of the places we haven been to.Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02982249173214655060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2857159910102323096.post-73244150038165277822015-01-15T17:31:09.795+01:002015-01-15T17:31:09.795+01:00I don't know how we did a LOT of things before...I don't know how we did a LOT of things before the Internet, Gattina!
