FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE - FIVE ON FRIDAY

1. Now the week starts nicely with our Scrabble club. We are 5 in total and that is OK. This time we were at Mireille's home. She also lives in Waterloo in a condominium on the last floor. Unfortunately the view is not that nice because it's close to a supermarket. We had a nice afternoon and a miracle happened, I won !

2. After the dermatologist had read the results of my blood test and noticed cat allergy and I don't know what else, that I thought my end is near, I went to my house doctor who is a cheerful lady and very efficient. I like her very much. I told her what the dermatologist had told me and like me she laughed ! She said I don't have to worry about anything, she too is allergic to cats and all the other stuff, that most of people are and as long as I don't suffer from any symptoms I don't have to do anything. We chatted a bit and then I left with a prescription of a crème in case these strange rashes would appear again. So far I had nothing since 3 weeks.

3. Nicole had to go to the Technical Control with her car. Cars are inspected and controlled after 4 years and then every 2 years. She asked me to come with her to "hold her hand" because she doesn't like to drive alone to places she doesn't know, despite the fact that she has a GPS, but it doesn't help, it confuses her, and I can't drive without it !

The weather was wonderful and we arrived problems. I had never been there, because my car is not yet 4 years old and the Contole Technique had moved to another place.

Compared to that what we had before the "Control" was huge and very modern. We didn't have to wait a long time and then the car was driven through and when the inspection was finished Nicole paid and we drove away.

4. For the first time this year it was so warm that we could sit on Nicole's terrace. It's a real sun trap. Of course not yet in shorts, but we had to take off our coats.

After my aqua gym a sun bath was wonderful ! We spent the whole afternoon there. We took her dining chairs outside, because the garden furniture is still packed for the winter.

5.

In my painting course I continued to paint with my fingers, and finished the second painting. We were nearly all there and as usual had a lot of fun.

I had to go out in the afternoon and as it was so warm, 13° for February, I did a little window shopping, but without any result.

How glorious to have that blue sky once again. I am still waiting! You fit lots of things into your week I hope next week is just as sunny for you.

Try telling your cats you are allergic to them and they will laugh too. You might be allergic to finger paints!! My car is only 2 years old, I think it must be inspected at 5 years and then every year. Drivers have a medical every year after age 75.

I am kind of relieved that you only took your coats off and were not wearing shorts.

Looks nice to be able to sit outside in the sun! I had sun while I was in Minnesota but now back in Michigan not so much of it. I have to admit it was lovely to see the sun coming through the windows - gave me lots of energy!

Happy Five on Friday!

I can't remember the last time I played scrabble. Or any other game for that matter. Oh hold on, my sister and I played gin rummy last September.

There is the mandatory car inspection thing in Japan, too. And it is very expensive!

Congratulations on your Scrabble win! I'm glad your doctor was level-headed and understood your situation. I'm pretty dependent on my GPS as well. Glad you had some refreshing time in the sun.

You've had a week filled with different activities. How lovely to be able to sit and enjoy the sun in February. It's still too chilly here, but soon, I hope, I'll get out there. Scrabble and finger painting sound like great activities. Happy weekend.

I love seeing people enjoy their retirement. I have no patience with those who sit around and complain of being bored. Bored?! I don't have enough hours in the day to do all I want. Looks as if you're making the most of your hours as well.

Well done on the scrabble. Our cars have to be checked after 3 years and then every year. When our local garage closed down last year we didn't get a reminder so ours was checked rather late! Fortunately we had no accidents during that time as we would not have been insured. I'm glad the rash seems to have gone and you haven't got to get rid of the cats! It's been warmer here but not lots of sun. Have a good week.

13C is not bad for Belgium in February. It was only 15 here so it was not much warmer. But I don't mind :)

Almost Florida temperatures (except here these silly people think 75 is cold. They are nuts. It's the perfect temperature.)

My friend and I were just saying the other day we don't know how we got anywhere without our GPS! The weather has been nice here too. What a lovely break from winter cold. Wish it would last, but I don't think it's going to. Enjoy the sunshine.
