FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

1. We had our last aqua gym course, the summer holidays start on July 1st and unfortunately our course respects the school holidays so it will be September when it starts again ! For the last lesson, our young trainer had invented games ! That was not exactly to the taste of us oldies, but finally we had a lot of fun and wet hairs, which most of them didn't like ! We had to swim or walk together by two arm in arm, pull or push one who lay on the water from one side to the other and of course the first couple got an applause. As last exercise we played a kind of water polo, throwing a soft cube into the air and through the opposite goal, I am not good in these games and in sticking together, so I was happy that we were 13 and we had to be in couples. Generously I left my place to somebody else and had fun watching them while I did my excercises.

2.  After a grey morning the sun came out a bit in the afternoon and before it started to rain again, I quickly put Oscar the lawn mower robot out on the grass. With this rainy and sometimes warm weather the grass and weeds grow so quickly that it is hard to follow to get rid of them. Most of the gardens look like jungles ! I also sat outside and worked on my computer.

3. I had to drive my neighbor to the hospital for her monthly eye shot but she called me that she had caught a cold and couldn't go. Lots of people have a cold with this roller coaster weather. I stayed home and read. I even was too lazy to go shopping, fortunately Mr. G. does it every day, as if we were living in the past when there were no refrigerators.

4. Ever since Nicole had had installed a sun tent on her terrace the sun went on strike. It's now nearly a month that she has it and wants to use it, but without sun it makes no sense. I paid her a little visit in the afternoon, we could sit outside but without sun tent, there were too many clouds.

Summer really starts well, no sunshine, and only catastrophes in the News.

5. I went again to my aqua gym because I had missed a lesson when I was in Turkey and had to recuperate the hour. We played again, it was the same program, but at least it was very funny. This time two of the oldies were offended, said that this was not gymnastic and left. We weren't sad, because they only spoiled the ambiance ! Some people just take themselves too seriously. Poor souls.

As I always see the same faces on TV, I made a strange discovery ! Look at that !

Don't they look like twin brothers ?  Trump and Johnson (the mayor of London), one still hopes, the other has given up ! Please note that they are both blond !

  2. They do look alike - what is the world coming to with the pair of them?!? Thankfully, London has a new mayor now and he seems like a very sensible sort, although still a politician of course ha! Fingers crossed the summer comes soon, we are all in desperate need of a distraction. And I agree, some people do take themselves far too seriously. Have a lovely weekend xx

  3. Boris is now no longer Mayor and thank fully decided yesterday not to stand as leader of the Tory party. t has been commented on here in the UK press too about their likeness, you are very on trend!

  4. There an expression "dumb blonde", it does apply here....

  5. Thank fully not standing for Leader of the Tory party. The weather here has been mixed too with not much of a summer to speak of at all. Lets hope it gets better.

  6. At least Boris will be fading into the background now as he is not going to be the new leader of the Conservative party, he will just be a Member of Parliament. Now we just need to get rid of the other one.

  7. Your aquatic exercises sound like fun to me. Boris is history, hopefully The Donald will soon be too - Keep Calm and Carry On Swimming!

  10. Ugh Trump. Heaven help us all if he wins. I'd like to proclaim a do over and ask each party to start again, and this time, make an effort.

Thank you for allowing comments with something other than Google+. I have an account but think I'm going to cancel it. I can't say it does anything at all to create community in my blog neighborhood.

  11. It's too bad the Aquagym classes close over the summer. Hope you get some sunshine soon! We're hoping for a bit of rain in our area.

  12. Lovely to hear about your week. Your exercise class sounds like a great fun and a good way to end before the summer holiday. I love that your lawnmower robot has a name, that is so much fun!! Thank you for joining in with Five On Friday. I hope you have a fun weekend! xx

  13. Sounds like you've had a lovely week, apart from the lack of sunshine. Perhaps this week will be better.
Yes, those two look alike and both have the same lack of polite manners.

  14. Two scary fellows, I hope ours goes away. Your water class sounds like fun.

  15. Sorry to hear the weather is not so good. It is cold here in the morning and night but sunny and warm in the day. But we are off to cold and wet Melbourne tomorrow. I'm glad you weren't at the airport in Turkey when the bomb went off. Aqa gym sounds fun.

  16. Lovely recap on your aqua sessions. Shame they're suspended during the summer - maybe given summer seems to have been and gone you'll get to carry on? I know exactly what you mean about the garden. Everything is growing much too fast. As for UK politics. There seems to be a new twist everyday. At least it's not boring! I hope you weren't too disturbed by the football last night. I've decided it might be time to flaunt my Welsh ancestry. (My Dad was born in Wales.)

  17. Yes it is a funny resemblance that :) But times are just too scary at the moment here in the UK. Have a lovely week x

  18. Glad you had fun at your aqua gym. Too bad some people weren't so happy.
I do see the resemblance between those two, hahaha.

  19. New meaning to the term 'blonde jokes'. Oh I am so tired of seeing the US one -- can hardly watch TV news without running screaming from the room., do not look forward to the debates, wish our campaign season was shorter. Eeek.

I'm not a fan of group games in exercise class either, but I'd never leave in a huff --- my theory is that somebody has to be the worst at things, it might as well be me. (I'm not very competitive at all so it doesn't bother me). Hope you get some sunshsine soon. It's time.

  20. Our aqua aerobics class will meet at an outdoor pool until September. It's my favorite time of year to do class. Nothing beats starting the day in the pool!

  21. I don't anything about the mayor, but I do know that The Donald couldn't be any worse than the administration that is ending soon - hooray! At least he has some experience in business instead of "Neighborhood Organizing".

  22. Your aqua gym wrap up had me smiling as I imagined what was going on. LOL. It's been a crazy week here too with weather. Hot in the midday and then thunderstorm warnings each afternoon. There were even a few reported tornadoes in different parts of Alberta. Yikes. But like you said the lawn is a jungle! Unfortunately we don't have an Oscar so hubby had to get out in the heat and do it.

  23. Trump is the lesser of the two evils .
    Fresh blood.
Another 4 years of the Clintons would be unbearable.
