WEEKEND REVIEW JUNE 6

After some shopping in morning, I sat the whole afternoon in our garden together with my computer.

My neighbor's daughter had invited friends for a birthday barbecue in the evening and she invited me too.

When I arrived three Harley Davidson were standing in front of the house.

We posed in front of a delicious looking barbecue.

When everything was eaten up they took selfies with the birthday cakes, and we had a lot of fun.

On Sunday I started my first working day as a volunteer tourist guide for the Waterloo battle bicentenary.

I had to answer the phone for German, English and Italian tourists. The vest I have only to wear outside. On the three pins, the languages I speak are written. To answer the phone was not very difficult, mostly they wanted to know if there are still entrance tickets, but for all the three re-enactments all 118.00 tickets were sold. Tourists from around 60 countries are expected. Some of them also asked if it is suitable for children under 10, but they are not allowed, the battle is too frightening for them.

and this is my temporary "office" the Waterloo Tourist center. Just opposite of the building is the Wellington museum.

In the afternoon my friend Chantal came over for a coffee, and I told her all about my first day.

  2. A very smart and important looking green jacket. I think you are going to be very busy.
If the "Battle" is not suitable for children under 10 then I think it might be too realistic for me as well.

  4. How wonderful to speak three languages! Here we are impressed if one can speak a second language, which I cannot anymore. At one time I could limp along in American Sign Language but moved away from deaf friends and now am too rusty to claim it. Your life sounds so very interesting!

  5. Oh wow, you look good in the vest, and you sound so good with the queries already. I read my first magazine in about two years last week, and I see "selfies" are the in thing. I tried to take of me and Rina while we were on holiday, but I look like a gargoyle! (So never posted these photos, LOL) Have a great day. Jo

  11. And so now you are once again a working woman (and how lucky they are to have you.) It sounds like a fun thing to do for temporary (you have such a busy life, you didn't really need one more thing, but they are very lucky you managed to make time for this volunteer effort!)
