A VINTAGE LADY's NIGHT

Letter : N

I raked my brain to give this post a title ! Google has become such a fussy censor. Titles such as "My nights", "My agitated nights", "My Night adventures" would be immediately X-rated and banned from my oh, so innocent blog.

It once happened to me because I had published a picture of Brussels Symbol

The Manneken Pis which you can find in Wikipedia and all travel brochures when you look up what to see in Brussels. This picture was taken off by Google, as it offended the public and could be classified under pedophile pictures. Google's employes certainly have a lack of  general knowledge and apparently must be quite bigot !

Back to my agitated night. First the wind whistled around the house and made such a noise that it was hard to sleep. When I finally fell asleep I was woken up in the middle of the night by something very heavy, fury and soaked wet, which was my cat Arthur who wanted to tell me that he was back from his nightly excursions. I dried my hands and Arthur and went back to bed again.

Then I was woken up by a big bang. I jumped out of my bed to see what had happened and found Mr. G. sitting in his bed fists up, he had banged against the wall and the picture which was hanging over his bed had fallen down and the frame was broken. Apparently he had dreamed that he was locked in a bus and banged against the door to get out. I put the picture aside, said good night and returned to my bed.

After a while I managed to fall asleep again, but was woken up by rambling noises coming from the bathroom.

I got up once again and found cat Arthur playing with a duck in the bath tube at 4.30 am ! I hid the ducks and went back to bed again.

Useless to say that in the  morning I was fresh like a daisy, had dark rings under my eyes and fell asleep after lunch watching TV.

These are the adventurous and agitated nights of a vintage lady, and have nothing to do with the nights I spent when I was young. Although that doesn't mean anything because I know a 72 years old lady who had two broken rips after having spent a night with her 15 years younger lover !

PS. I wonder if Manneken Pis will be censured again ???

We vintage ladies must have strong bones if we want to take younger lovers.
Arthur will have to learn to only play with soft toys in the bath at night.
Poor Mr G. nightmares are a terrible thing even if they sometimes sound a bit funny in the morning.

I remember when you published the photo Manneken Pis. I didn't realise it caused you trouble.

We watch this space to see if it's censored! I can relate to your broken night: I had one on Tuesday (mostly cat-related) and told my walking partner the next morning I needed a wheelchair to get me to complete our 5km walk that day, I also fell asleep after lunch!

Hope your friend with the broken ribs is on the mend, or at least still has a smile on her face, that Mr G has repositioned the painting to another wall, that Arthur is taught to play quietly with a duck in the bath (it's better than bringing a mouse in to show you!) and that you have managed to have a restful night!! If all else fails book yourself in a nice hotel in down town Brussels and leave them all to it!!
Have a great week

sounds like the night I just had. But actually nothing (I think) was happening around me; I just kept waking up every hour! I know I would have been very upset with Arthur! {:-Deb

Your nights certainly do see a lot of action! Arthur doesn't even look remorseful about waking you up.

You have more happening to you in one night than I do in a week! Incredible.

It seems far too often someone, some where sensors the wrong stuff. It will always be a mystery to me! Interesting N post, thank!

Mannekin Pis was censored? Unbelievable. You had a most agitated night. But glad that nothing too serious happened. I laughed out loud about that lady's broken ribs. Good to know you can have fun at any age :)

Wow, kudos to the lady with the broken ribs!

I hate nights like that and seem to experience more of them as I get older...

Most nights I have a cat or two or three waking me up, so I can relate.

We come here to see what got by the censors ;>).... looks like everything made it based on the last paragraph! (I knew a lady once who broke her arm falling out of bed under similar circumstances!)....

One thing about being a vintage lady is that when one has a bad night it is OK to fall asleep after lunch as we do not have to go t work... or anywhere unless we want to !
