WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

More participants here

Wheelchairs to lend in a hospital in Amsterdam. They are chained up and available for 1 €. Probably the management thinks that once you had used the wheelchair you would run away and leave it somewhere.

PS. Can somebody tell me what happens to Wordless Wednesday's official site ?

  1. That seems very cynical. I suppose they assume no one will be too cheap to forego a wheelchair when he or she needs one.

As for the WW site, I have no idea. It seems like no one is minding the store.

  2. oh here they put in fake coins and they do take the carts home and then throw them in ditches so it is hard for the stores to get them back

  3. Hahaha, the carts are wheelchairs !

  4. LOL...looks like someone didn't read your post. Just assumed it was grocery carts. Tsk Tsk.

I have no idea what happened to W W these past few times I've played along. Maybe their computer broke, or something with family calling for no one to handle the meme. Who knows.

  5. Maybe it is the able bodied ones that are the problem.

  8. I'd think anyone needing a wheel chair would be unlikely to give it up until bedtime, So I'm guessing these wheel chairs are for people who can actually walk or how would they run away and leave it somewhere:)

  9. I know Gattina lol but they make you pay for them because they probably need the money
each cart costs 300 dollars. each wheelchair costs min 175 dollars.
People are not careful an can easily sneak one out of the store. That's just a fact of life.
but its nice the stores think about making life easier on people so they do not have to drag their own stuff behind them to shop, lol

  10. Hi Gattina, I'm taking care of my mom right now who uses a wheelchair now. Going to the airport soon too, where I'm sure I'll see more of these.

  11. Maybe people use them just so they don't have to walk and then leave them wherever.

  12. !

    (wordless enough for ya!?!)

ps I was born in 1972, maybe I should put THAT on my sidebar instead of updating every 4 yrs. I DID alter my profile age to the embarrassingly true figure of 38 yesterday, as it happens, but 1972 sounds better. Makes people think of Abba, Debie Harry, John Travolta and all the good things of the era when I was born.

Not that the music of my youth, Madonna's True Blue/etc, is actually FURTHER AWAY in time than the Beatles and the rest of the hopelessly unfashionable-seeming 60s were when I was in my mid-teens.

Fascinating that young girl singers frequently credit Madonna as an influence these days. When I was young you'd never in a million years hear a new pop star even mention the Beaetles, the Stones or, worse still, ELVIS... ukh!!

Haven't remained too wordless, have I? Oh well, it IS Thursday now ...
