FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

more participants at Susanne at Living to tell the Story.

1.My neighbor Paulette came to visit me and brought a gift for little grandson Toby who is today one month old. This is the last picture I got from him. Our guest room fills up with gifts from friends and neighbors, I hope we don't have to hire a truck !

2. This week I had acqua gym again it had been cancelled twice because of the snow, so we were happy to see each other and while drinking a delicious tea after our exercises, we talked about women's rights ! Fortunately no man was around !

3. I also acted as hairdresser, Domi wanted to change her hair color a bit and she asked me to help her because she had never done it herself. I can tell you we had a lot of fun while doing it, and we behaved like two school girls giggling and wondering what color would come out !
Fortunately it came out perfect and she was very happy with it.

She had put up the nativity scene her 86 year old mother had made herself when her 6 children were small. I found it the cutest crèche I had ever seen. It was made out of ceramic. I love its simplicity.

4.

After two days without snow, it had started again and as the streets were a mess as usual with 3 snow flakes, I stayed home and did some filing which was quiet necessary. I also cooked a big pot of Chili con Carne, Mr. G's favorite dish and put 6 portions in the deepfreeze !

I went to bed early because I love to read in my bed, and Rosie likes to keep me company.

5. The snow had melted again so we had our painting class. It also had been cancelled twice but yesterday morning I could finally go.

our classroom was nicely decorated for Christmas

and the public retirement home where we have our class, was also very beautiful. From left to right, the entrance, the reception, the entrance hall, a Christmas tree standing in a corner, the coffee tables and the entrance to our classroom, which is also used for feasts, parties etc.

  2. Snow can be a bother sometimes. I love reading in bed and listening to the rain on the roof, of which we have had a lot lately.

  4. We are lacking in the snow department as well. However your classroom is so nicely decorated.

It sounds like fun the two of you playing hair dresser and giggling like school girls, glad the colour came out just right.

  5. I am still not happy. We have no snow and I think it may be a snowless Christmas for us. The first in many years.
    Little Toby is adorable!

  6. We have our water aerobics OUTSIDE, and I doubt it will take place today since it is chilly, damp, and foggy!
Diane will be pleased to know she has a half-sister, since she adores having a sister, Devon, and I am sure the more the merrier.
I gave another blogger the link to your blog, but now I can't remember who it was!
Chili is my favorite winter meal!
Have a wonderful holiday, Gattina! Do you have any new paintings for me to put on my blog??

  10. The snow, even 3 snowflakes, sure can confuse drivers! So glad that you were able to attend your acqua gym and painting class this past week.

I love the 'simple' nativities best too. What a wonderful keepsake your friend has in her mom's crèche.

I can just hear you and your friend "dying" and laughing. having such a friend is indeed a blessings.

    Have a blessed Christmas.

  11. Hi Gattina, like Diane, we also don't really have snow but at the moment it is raining a lot here in South Africa. I also love to read in bed although I find myself falling asleep after the first page. (Old age, LOL!) I love that simple creche. Have a wonderful weekend, (((Hugs))) Jo

  15. Your grandson is adorable.

Looks like you guys have had a fair bit of the white stuff. I like curling up with a good book on those cold evenings, too.

Those hair colors, sometimes you just never know what you're going to get. :vD
