MY WORLD - Waterloo Artists Exposition

more participants here

On sunday the city had organized an "Artist Market", for the Waterloo artists. Along the wall at the station each artist who wanted to participate got a space with a table and could hang up their paintings at the grid on the wall. The condition was to paint one blue bird in a limited time, from 10 am til 4 pm, which was quiet a challenge for those who used oil because it lasts days to dry. But we all made it and had a lot of fun.

This was the poster hanging all over the city and surroundings

Mr. G. took pictures of me while I was hanging up my "master pieces"

the young girl was my neighbor and there were around 30 artists exposing

I found this bird beautiful and he made it in such a short time it was amazing

The sculpture came out very nicely too. In the back you can see the police and an ambulance, a man was so drunken that he zig zagged for a while on the street and then just collapsed. So it really hasn't been boring !

strange little figurines

a tired dog (and he didn't even paint)

The local TV came and asked me for an interview. So I will be on TV tomorrow, what an honor, I feel like a "star" !

we also had some music

children made little birds

Lots of visitors during the whole day

I am "working" and even sold the yellow cat on the right behind me

and my finished "Blue Bird". In October all Birds will be exposed in Waterloo.

It had been a wonderful day and I met lots of people I hadn't seen for ages !

  7. I would have bought the headshot of the black and white tuxedo cat with the red background. My daughters late cat, Maestro looked much like this. I know she still misses him every day.

One of these days I will do something like this too.I have a lot of shawls I knitted and some paintings. I noticed people make posters of their paintings and sell those. Then they charge more for the original.
Good for you for selling a painting.

  13. Hi Gattina! I just noticed that cute little dog hiding under the table. It's not like me to miss a dog. About 2 days ago I saw a baby Akita being walked down the high street. It looked so amazing, I just wanted to take it home with me...
Many thanks for looking over my German. I am hoping that within a year at most it WON'T be full of mistakes any more. (Well I can hope...)
    Someone left a comment saying:
Ich habe schon so lange keine mehr singen hören.

But I don't get what she is saying? Does she mean it's been a long time since she has heard singing like that? That's all I could imagine it meant...
I posted up yet more German today... more birds. One more post and then that's it.
When I was at school we learnt the language through themes and topics. Birds is my theme of the week ~ and I haven't even got on to my favourites: die Blaumeise and die Kohlmeise. My teacher's favourite topic (from the A-Level syllabus) was nuclear disarmament, followed by pollution and the environment. So I now can discuss quite fluently the politics of nuclear testing and how terrible it is that the poor seals get covered in Nitrate-foam on the beaches in Syllt.
But get me to ask for a chicken sandwich and I'm totally stumped!!!

  15. Ohhhhhhhh GATTINA! This was TOO much fun! You've never done an outdoor exhibit before have you? I LOVE this! How I WISH I had been there! And you get to speak on TV! Well... you ARE a celebrity! You are FAMOUS in the blogging community! :)

  16. "there were around 30 artists exposing"
    hee hee...
Did you get arrested? Used that way it could mean you were all taking your clothes off. ha ha.

Now if I tried to speak a 2nd language I would get arrested just for speaking. I think I told you that about 15 years ago I took some spanish classes. It was fun, but I made my teacher cringe.

I love the fact that you were displaying your art at the exposition. I'm so envious of your talent and energy!
