FUN MONDAY

Sayre our host this week wants us show and tell about how we spend our summer days.

As I am retired I have summer the whole year concerning holidays and therefore I prefer travelling when there are no school holidays.

One part of my summer days I have already behind me, I did a 8 day round trip through Morocco and 5 days rest in a beautiful hotel in Marrakech.

Next will probably be a visit to a cousin who still lives in Schlüchtern (Germany) where I lived for a big part of my childhood with my Grandparents

For sure is that I will spend my yearly week at the English South East coast in Eastbourne with my friends Anne and Doug, like I do since 3 years in August, combined with a few days in London

Next will be end October where I go as usual for 2 weeks to the Red Sea in Egypt, to prepare myself for the winter and also for becoming a grandma end November !

In between when the weather is nice I'll do some excursions with friends here around or a weekend in Amsterdam where my son and DIL live.

Now you know everything about my summer holiday schedule !

Please note that I host Fun Monday on Monday 14, I'll put up my topic on Wednesday, I first have to concoct something !

  1. How fun your summer days are. I so enjoyed all of those photos from your latest excursion. I can't keep up with this Fun Monday. I never know whose hosting. Oh well. I'll be on vacation the end of the week for a while so I'm not going to worry about it LOL :)

  2. Have passport will travel! I like visiting countries that I haven't been to before, but it's also good to have favorite places that you look forward to visiting again and again. My friend Janice has enjoyed your vacation photos from the trip to Morracco. She's going to that same area in October.

Was Arthur glad to see you when you got home? Did he have a comedy act prepared for you? :-)

  3. Congrats on becoming a grandmother. I don't suppose we will ever get to travel like that, but it looks like a lot of fun!

  4. Ha! I've got you beat in the Granny department! I've had a granddaughter for 9 years now!

I love seeing the pictures of your travels. I don't think I've ever seen the beach with the chalk cliffs before though - have you seen the big white horse etched into the hillside? I remember seeing it once, but not where in England I was at the time.

I love to go in off-seasons too - I find it very hard to relax with crowds of people around (which is why I'm NEVER going to DisneyWorld again!!!).

  5. Unlike everyone else, I haven't begun to think about Summer yet... Schools don't start their hols til 3rd week in July.
My aim is ti avoid the Summer crowds and remain at home, just pottering around.

Sayre the Vale of the White Horse is in Wiltshire.
I went thro' the Vale a few years ago.

  7. Hey when you're in Germany you can catch up with Marienhof and Lindenstrasse!!!!!

All this time in North AFrica you really should be learning Arabic, Gattina(!!) They do say picking up one's sixth language comes remarkably easy (compared to 2, 3, 4 and so on) ....

  8. PS I can't wait for delivery of those cow's heads. My landlord won't know what's BIT him when he hopefully slips into bed and his toes come into contact with bovine teeth ~ ****evil cackles****

  11. Do you mind my asking what it was you used to do before you retired? I was trying to think up a job but could not imagine... school teacher? Well you definitely have the IQ and the imagination and did you say you did it I can't remember... Office assistant? Well that's a nonspecific job we all could land in, most of mine were like that... Librarian (I think Gattina likes talking too much)... Schauspielerin /actress ~ there's a lady in Marienhof named Inge ... you could be her sister... (o! sorry ~ forgot: German soap ~ OK then lesbian agent provocateur... oh what else? jobswise... Interior designer. That is for you! That's what you should be doing with your glorious home and taste in tiddlytoddly ornaments

PS thanks so much for keeping those cows' heads in your freezer till Eastbourne. So obliging of you
I don't mind if they get that maggotty... do you think they'd look good with lightbulbs where the eyes were..?
    ;-)...

Take care Gattina and here's to many glorious trips in times future ;->...
