FUN MONDAY - SPRING

Janice wrote "this weeks challenge is all about Spring. Here is what I want you to do.....Take a photo of whatever represents Spring to You....and tell us why".

Spring has always been the best season for me ! I feel it like a rebirth after having been dead from October since now. Years ago I had deep seasonal depressions which started at autumn and finished in spring ! It was a desease which wasn't very well known and most of the people couldn't understand. Now I don't have it anymore but I am careful. Each year I go to Egypt into the warm sun and light that makes me support better the short grey and cold days. I also try to keep myself busy and do inside things. As soon as the sun is shining I am out to fill my tank with light.

In spring I feel full of energy ! I could pull out trees and feel just good. The air has a special smell because mother nature wakes up and trees, plants and flowers start to grow and bloom again and fill the air with this special spring parfume ! I love to go out on our patio early mornings (when it doesn't rain) and breeze deeply ! It smells far better than the most expensive parfume !

I love the first little, timid spring signs, like daisies in our grass, the first bushes blooming and the cats happily playing in the sunshine. That's when I feel like a newborn baby, although I am sure a newborn doesn't feel very happy after birth !

This is what I hate, naked trees, everything looking grey, even if there is some color when the sun is shining. I hate snow and therefore also black and white photos, they are depressing.

In autumn and winter I always want to move into a country which doesn't have any seasons, but in spring and summer I love to be here.

  1. You make a great case for Spring. Great photo and comparison as well :) You could always come to Hawai'i for Winter :)

  2. Well, I like winter but t hen we do not get that many grey days and never any snow so perhaps that is why it does not bother me.

  3. I am another winter lover because spring is just a harbinger of sweaty ol' summer!

  4. I agree with you about Winter, which is why I like returning to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) after Spring Ahead.
Wet, dull grey days can be soul-destroying.

Happily Spring is here and we are on BST (British Summer Time). Longer days and shorter nights suit me fine.

  5. How you describe your Spring season with such vivid imagery in words is astounding!!! Winters here are not that bad, but I do know what you mean about 'rebirth' and the dead, cold and gray of the months previous.

  6. I know what you mean about cold grey depressing days of winter. You sound like you would fit right in living in Florida. Spring does feel like rebirth..just to see the flowers come alive is so exciting and gives us something to look forward to.Thanks for playing Gattina and happy FM

  7. Oh the Gray ! ...and how I agree with you about that subject. We tend to have more brownish-gray here, but at least there are a few junipers and other evergreens mixed in for some color. Loved your collages.

  9. My friend Beth also suffers from seasonal affective disorder to the point she's even done the light treatments. It must be very hard on those of you who don't thrive in cold weather. Glad you've figured out how to beat it Gattina. And I noticed Rosie in your photo collage--is she totally well now?

  10. I rather like the four seasons. But now you mention it, increased sunlight is a very nice part of spring. Traveling to Egypt during the winter sounds like a grand idea.

  11. A very descriptive post about your love of Spring, you would be perfectly happy here for 9 months of the year but our hot humid Summer Not our mild Winter is the bad time.

  13. Here, in California, we usually skip Winter, but this year it really landed, here. I'm glad Spring is on the way. Great essay.

  14. I can feel the spring inside... like magic, too...

And not a single daffodil's out yet.

Unless I missed them all bc I was so down.

Or unless nobody plants them round here (which is probably true...!!)
