FUN MONDAY - Sunday mornings

WHO WANTS TO HOST ON MONDAY NOV 2 ????

Today I have the honor to host Fun Monday and as I am not curious at all, I always like to see a little bit of your personality. So I just wondered what are you wearing when you get out of your bed on a Sunday morning.

Since I am not working anymore, it's sunday morning every day the whole year long. First thing when I get out of my bed is grap my caftan throw it over my head and hurry in the kitchen to make coffee followed or surrounded by 5 breakfast hungry cats. After I have fed them I sip my coffee while I read my emails. In summer when it's warm I like to have my coffee outside on the patio and that's also an opportunity to have a little morning chat over the fence with my friend and neighbor. She in her bathrobe, I in my caftan. I wear this until I have decided what I will do with my day and this is always around 11 or even later.

Then only I get dressed or sometimes not, but be assured I wash myself and even put some make up around my eyes, otherwise I look like a Halloween witch.

My winter caftan in velvet, very warm and comfortable. I bought it in England in an Indian shop for only 10 € (15 $). It needs no ironing, just wash and wear.

For summer, spring and fall I have these 3, the one with short sleeves I bought in Egypt, the red long sleeved also in England and the turquoise in Brussels on the midi market, for less then 10 €. Ever since, I always wear caftans in the morning before I go out.

  7. Man, I feel sooo underdressed now lol! You look lovely in the caftans. I'm too short to carry them off, I'm afraid.

  8. I love the warm, deep, rich color of the wine-red one. You look marvelous in it.

Thing is, I don't look any different from Sunday to the next morning...it's always scary.

  9. Gattina, my friend, you are lovely, as are your choices for attire.

But as a crazed, insanely busy, sleep-deprived mommy, I cannot participate in this particular Fun Monday.

Really, it's for the good of Blogdom.

  10. Gattina you do not look anything like a Halloween Witch!

PS talking of eyemakeup, did you know that without it, Claudia Schiffer is supposed to look "like a rabbit with myxamatosis"!...

This according to a top fashion photographer!

  13. Wow! I haven't worn a caftan since I was a teenager! I had a silky purple paisley one back then -- I LOVED it! I should get some! They certainly are comfy... I would probably never get out of the house! LOL! I just slip straight into shorts and tshirt -- or in winter sweats and a tshirt... but no bra until I get showered and dressed. And I wear no make-up, so that part's easy!

Your caftans are beautiful! That velvet one - wow! I could never wear velvet -- not even in winter -- I would swelter!

  16. I've never thought of wearing one myself but I must say they look really great on you! And I bet they're a nice and comfortable way to start the day as well. Thanks for hosting, this was fun and different!

  17. Wow - I LOVE that! I remember my mom wearing caftans in the 70s and I had one that I loved (even though it was polyester double knit). I need to find a pattern for these so I can make my own (as a trip to Britain, India or anywhere else is out of the question at the moment).

  18. What fancy smancy loungers! So nice. I'm afraid I'm too boring or too predictable. Church on Sunday starts at 9:00, so it's into the shower to get ready, then I eat breakfast.

If you have had a harrowing experience or just did something dumb, hop on over to my middle age blog.

  19. Many years ago I was a caftan fan, Gattina. Only I called then "marinas" for some reason. Made them from cotton knit or 100% cotton and --like you--wore them at least half the day. Your lovely ones are like mementos of trips you've enjoyed to other countries, I'm sure. I have a shawl that I bought in Venice and wear around my shoulders at night when at the computer--brings back good travel memories.
