FUN MONDAY - TEARS

Mariposa : Let's talk about TEARS. What images spring to mind when you hear the word ‘tears’? Have you ever had tears of laughter and tears of joy? When was the last time you had tears of joy? Tears of laughter? Tell us about it!

Honnestly nothing comes into my mind when I hear the word "tears". Of course they are the expression of joy or sadness, like a rain drop which means that it is raining and wet. On a picture they look very much alike.

I had and have a lot of tears of laughter in fact that happens all the time, but I had never as long as I can remember tears of joy ! When I am happy, I don't cry. I would rather jump to the ceiling. There was a time in my life where I very often cried because I pitied myself. If you ask me why today, I don't know really, it was mostly during automn where I suffered from seasonal depressions during years. My favourite handkerchief was cat Pookie, her fur was always wet in autumn, poor thing.

I didn't cry either on my wedding, I secretely had swallowed a glass of cognac to calm my nerves, with the result that I was standing there in front of the pastor in my white long dress and had difficulties not to giggle.

Honnestly I don't remember when I cried last time, usually I cry when I am very, very furious because somebody hurt me, not by throwing a chair at my head but with hurting words.

  1. I cry with happiness, even other people's! I cry when I see something sad on TV, I cry when I read a sad book or hear a beautiful song and I also cry with laughter and when I'm so angry I don't know what else to do...and I get even madder because I cry! Go figure...

  2. I cry very often with my teen ager Mélissa. This is an hard conflict period and not cool all the days. But with the daughters' adventures I can cry of laughter too! Ha! Ha! I imagine you in front of the pastor! I cried too for allergizes in the past and one time so hard that suddenly I decided to have a trip by my cousin in Strasbourg and go away from South as I was so much ill!

  5. You're a happy person now, and so am I. We have learned our lessons from winter depression it seems. I don't want to go there again either.

  7. Like you, I usually cry when I'm cross. Certainly didn't cry at my wedding - I don't often cry with joy.

  8. How odd that the seasons affect us so differently. I love the cool rainy days of autumn and get irritated with hot dry summers. Sometimes I feel somewhat emotionally arrested because nothing in real life makes me cry but that must be upbringing. So a good shot of cognac is the best cure for pre-wedding jitters?

I'm going to visit my eye doctor in a couple of weeks. I too have dry eyes--from too much reading and computing--hope she doesn't recommend the cure in your cartoon!

  11. You are lucky you can control your tear ducts. I sometimes feel like a fool when I weep over simple little things. Love the cartoon. Thanks for sharing

  13. I shed tears of Joy when they told me I was going to be a GRANDMA!!! Oh my gosh! I was so excited I couldn't control it -- the tears just streamed! I have cried other tears of joy too though... but never like I did that day!

I don't usually cry when I'm sad... unless I am very VERY depressed. But I DO cry when I am FRUSTRATED! I think most often my tears are of frustration than anything else -- though I really don't cry very often at all! Like you -- I am better to be HAPPY and laughing!
