FUN MONDAY - Arthur the big helper

Karisma's proposed task for this monday is that she thinks that our kids and pets are often a great source of amusement. She wants to hear a funny, silly or just downright cute story about your pets or your children.

The one who amuses us and the whole neighbourhood the most is our cat Arthur. He never wants to be funny, but he is it all the time. He is a little clumsy, very social and a very good natured cat. Nothing can disturb him not even if the heaven would fall on his head. And here is a story of one of his adventures.

Observing the neighbours !

One day, Victor, our neighbour was putting old furniture on the sideway to get rid of it. Of course this was something for cat Arthur ! He ran across the street and immediately jumped on a little table which was standing there. Victor was a little surprised to see him suddenly on the table, but Arthur very politely jumped off it and said hello and generously allowed Victor to pet him.

After this warm greating, Victor returned into the house followed by Arthur of course. He came back with an old TV in his arms, while Arthur turned around his legs. Poor Victor nearly stumbled and hardly catched his balance. He asked Arthur to go away. But Arthur suffering from bad hearing, didn't listen and kept him company until he put down the TV. Immediately Arthur jumped on it and sniffed at it all over. Must have been a very interesting smell ! Then he sat down, and watched what Victor would bring out next. It was a lamp with a string hanging down. Arthur thought how kind of him he brings toys even on the sidewalk, jumped down and played with the hanging string. Victor going one step back, stumbled against the steps and nearly lost his balance . This time he asked Arthur a little louder to disappear and leave him alone. But Arthur as a good cat wanted absolutely continue to help.

The third time Victor came out with a very ugly but comfy armchair. It must have been quite heavy because his face was completely wet and red. He hadn't put it down completely, when Arthur happily jumped on it and found that this was a real good napping place. Victor didn't agree at all. I had observed all this through my window but now I really started to pity him and went over to ask if Arthur was disturbing. He sighed and said, Arthur is a real cute cat, but please could you lock him in until I finish this ?

I looked at Arthur who meanwhile had settled down in the armchair, and looked around with satisfaction. I tried to pick up a struggeling Arthur which was quite difficult and carried him over to our house. He now was really angry, and tried to jump off my arms but I made it, quickly put him down and closed the door.

He looked at me with killer eyes sat down at the closed door and said meauw, just once. As a warning. Oh no, I thought, he probably will sing all songs he knows and in all tone scales and louder and louder !

And that's what he did. I ran to the bathroom and looked for earplugs....

  10. Arthur knows how to help very well!

When my friend's MIL was moving a few states away (2 days drive), they had the furniture rental truck at their house for a day. When the MIL arrived at her new house - she had an unexpected guest....their cat, Simon!!

  11. First loved the name "Arthur"--it seems to suit him, especially in that first photo. Is he the neighbor snoop? Just seems like he needs to supervise neighborhood happenings. Is he the character among your cats? This story makes me smile, Gattina.
