As the sun was shining so bright I did a little walk through the domain of Argenteuil in Waterloo. Unfortunately it is still quite cold only 10 °C (about 50 F) It is a beautiful forest with 3 castles and parcs.

I discovered one of the castles hidden behind trees

I zoomed it a little nearer, but I have no idea who is living in there. Probably some of the Belgian aristocracy

I took this way

and found myself on a private property

Before a friendly Pitbull would chase me away, I quickly left.

The castle I was looking for, the one which was occupied by King Leopold III the father of our actual King Albert II, I didn't find. So this will be for the next time.

But to my big surprise I discovered a Hockey play field. I didn't even know that this exists in Waterloo, although it's now 33 years I am living here. It certainly hadn't exist when our son was the age of these players.

  6. Amazing Gattina...I've seen it once, I'll say it again, I'm so jealous of your city where you live. I would give both my ovaries [If I still had them] to live in Europe.

    Beautiful.

  12. You know... I'm having a problem with this whole idea of going for a little neighborhood stroll and stumbling upon a castle. I could find a million hockey fields... but I'd have to walk a good looooooong way to find a castle! GREAT photos!
