WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

On December 6th the Belgian children get their gifts from Saint Nicholas, it is a very important day especially for the flemish part of the country. The french speaking part celebrates more Christmas.

But what I had never seen in my whole life was a Saint Nicholas who did hitchhiking ! He was standing there at the main street in Waterloo and tried to stop a car !

When he saw me taking the picture he smiled and made me a sign. I never knew if somebody took him, probably yes, I went in the other direction.

Just for your information the real Saint Nicholas looked like this :

  16. Ha! Ha! Saint Nicholas is very well captured by you, Gattina! I had no time these days for blogging because I was walking from shop to shop to prepare Christmas! And now I go to the post office sending to my daughter french sweeties and chocolates she will offer some to her hostfamily!

Saint Nicholas hitchhiking - does that mean the the recession has hit him too and he can't buy enough hay to power up the reindeer?

  27. A hitch hiking St Nick, what next. I love the beautiful white beards on the modern day St Nick. He's a picture of sartorial Christmas elegance and finery.

  28. To Ms. Gattina

I have read some of your posts. I would like to revisit the same.

If you like short stories and paintings, then a short visit to my blogs would be a good idea.
