My mother's sister had married an American from Madison/Wisc. in 1950. They didn't have children and I was sort of daughter to them. They invited us for the first time to the States in 1971 (I wrote a post about that here) and in the 80 and 90th we have been often in Madison and had always combined our holidays with 2 weeks travelling through the States.

These coins she had sent us in 1976 and 1986. They are in silver and were issued for the respective anniversaries. Of course as always when I want to take a picture, Rosie has to check on what I am doing !

******************

From tomorrow afternoon on I will be in Egypt for 2 weeks and will write from there as soon as I find the internet connection ! Hopefully it will work at least decently !

Hi Gattina, nice coin collection. I see Rosie is the Inspector of your home...Isn't it funny how when you put things out to take pictures for your blog, your Inspector always shows up to check things out??

What special gifts! Enjoy your time in Egypt! We'll "see" you when you return. Silly Rosie, she has to inspect everything to be sure everything is just right. lol

Cats always have to be in the middle of everything, no?

I had a question for you. I'm trying to line up sites to visit on my virtual book tour. :) The book should be out in December, and I'd just like to "travel" to different sites. You can interview me, I can guest blog, you can think of something else you'd like to do? :)

I'm trying to "travel" the world, hit as many countries and states as I can. Would you be interested in participating?

Those coins are fantastic, suits with a fantastic cat to go with them :-)

I hope you'll have a wonderful time in the sun and warmth and I'm so envious, since it's keep raining and raining over here. But they say it will be sun tomorrow and I really hope they're right for once!

Have a great time in Egypt. Sounds wonderful.

My grandmother used to collect coins and as kids we'd love looking through them. You took me on a small trip down memory lane there. :)
